As the organization managing the Technology Innovation Centre Međimurje, Regional Development Agency Međimurje REDEA Ltd. is organizing the conference TICTalk 2011: Innovations for Technology and Innovation Centres, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Croatia, Labour and Entrepreneurship and the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia. The conference will be held on 27th and 28th September 2011 in Čakovec.

Globalisation, new technologies and growth in the service sector are all combined to quicken the pace of change today. In a knowledge-driven economy innovation has become essential for achievements in the business world. With this growth in importance, organisations in both public and private sectors have launched initiatives to develop methodologies and tools to support entrepreneurship and management of innovation and technology transfer.

The conference will present a new concept of technology and innovation centers development and the examples of best practice from Scandinavia, Portugal, Germany, Spain and their role in development of a knowledge-based economy. As well technologies developed in Croatia, Germany Scandinavia, Spain and Portugal will be presented. The goal of the conference is to introduce successful European examples of technology innovation centres to relevant Croatian stakeholders, to enhance the cooperation between successful domestic and international companies and science institutions, as well as to introduce investment and technology development opportunities to successful and knowledge-based European companies.
